HOW WE CHARGE

Remember, your plan fee and plan choice are typically quoted after the complementary introductory meeting, so you are always in control as to what plan, if any, you wish to have us create for you. (If for some reason, there is a charge for the first meeting, we will inform and invoice you in advance).  We do most of our work on a flat fee basis, so you will know what your fees are in advance.

Be wary of law firms that can quote you up front "how much they charge for a trust."  The only way a firm can do this is if every client gets the same trust!  Your needs could be much simpler or more complex than a word processing document in a computer.

Also be wary of law firms that tell you that funding of a trust is simple and easy. It is not true, and such advice may result with your assets going through probate, or may produce other unintended consequences. By using a Trust and Estate Planning Funding Coordinator to assist you with your funding, we can keep your legal costs down and help to assure that your estate planning goals won't fail due to an unfunded trust or (all-too-common!) improper beneficiary designation form!

Did you know more plans fail because people do not have the beneficiary designation forms for their assets filled out correctly? Do you know where your beneficiary designation forms for all of your assets even are? (Most people don't!) When were they last updated or even looked at? These forms are by far the documents through which Americans pass the majority of their wealth, even more than all those wills sitting in safe deposit boxes! We ask you place your confidence only in a law firm that takes the time to review these important documents and coordinate them with your trust and other estate planning documents. We  want to be sure the people you think are getting your money are actually the ones that do!
